League Announcements

 We are pleased to announce that we are making several significant changes to our League.

These include changes to our Monthly & Quarterfinal Tournaments, as well as qualification standards and prizes.

 "Venue of the Week"

 

          Starting in October, at least once a month, we will feature a "Venue of the Week".  On this night, we will offer higher nightly prizes of $100-$200 for that venue.

We will also post several bounties on different players, shot specials, and even “Celebrity Hosts” chosen from you, the players.

Specialty Events

Starting in January, we will hold a Specialty Tournament on the 1st Sunday of every month. 

These tournaments will include: Team, Heads Up, Tag Team, Omaha, Ladies Night, & Charity Fundraisers.

 

          The winners of each of these events will now win $100 (up from $25) in addition to the State Finals seats awarded to the winner of these tournaments.

 

          Also, the winners of each of the Specialty Events will receive an entry into the Poker Destination Getaway Event (See below for details)

Monthly / Quarterfinal Changes

 

          Starting in October, we will be combining our Monthly and Quarterfinal tournaments into one event.

 

We will now be holding the Monthly State Qualifier (MSQ) on a monthly basis.  This will be held on the

4th Sunday every month.

 

 

"What is the MSQ??"

 

The MSQ is a combination of our Monthly and Quarter Finals Tournaments. This allows everyone that plays with the IHPL more chances to qualify for our year-end State Finals Tournament.

 

 

"How do I qualify for the MSQ??"

 

To qualify for the MSQ, you simply have to either win a nightly session during the month or place in the Top 10 in points for the month at a particular venue. 

 

If you qualify more than once for the MSQ, you will start the tournament with additional starting chips.

 

MSQ Prizes

  • The entire Final Table will receive entries into the 2010 IHPL State Finals Tournament.
  • The Top 2 finishers each month also win an entry into a Horseshoe Tournament (Council Bluffs) of their choice.
  • As an added bonus, the entire Final Table will qualify for our $1,000 Poker Destination Getaway Event.

 

There are several reasons for the MSQ:

 

1) You no longer have to go thru a 13 week process to qualify for the Top 10. The points reset every month.

 

- Every month EACH venue will send its TOP 10 to the MSQ.

The entire FINAL TABLE of 9 players at the MSQ will now qualify for our State Finals Tournament.

 

2) This is good for new players coming into the league.

 

- This allows them to qualify for the State Finals every month,instead of having to wait for the new quarter to start.

"Poker Destination Getaway Event"

 

This is an exclusive trip package that will include roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, cash, and a paid entry into a Poker Tournament

(Package is valued at over $1,000!!)

 

Destinations are set to include:

Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut,

The Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, TheTrump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City

and more !!

 

 

 

 

 

The only ways to qualify to play in this tournament are:

  1. The Final Table (9 players) at a MSQ tournament.
  2. The TOP 5 at a VIP tournament.
  3. The WINNER(S) of a Specialty tournament.
  4. By INVITATION ONLY from IHPL management. 

     This event will be held every 8 weeks and will be a 3-4 table tournament!
